Parish News
THANK YOU FOR LAST WEEK’S COLLECTION: €1400.
TO BOOK MASSES: please text Mary on 0868236596.
THANK YOU JESUS AND MARY for a week of blessings during our parish pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Rest assured that you were prayerfully remembered. Thanks so much to Marie Urquhart our group leader, who combined great efficiency with care and kindness. Thank you to the priests who provided cover.
KILSHANNY DEVELOPMENTS: we have applied for grant funding to refurbish Kilshanny Community Hall. Please God we can find interested individuals and groups who could avail of the hall. I’m informed that there’s a fine sprung floor in it for dancing. Unfortunately, my Irish dancing lessons ended at age 7 when I was told that I had two left feet and was unteachable. Maybe I could make a second attempt if dancing classes begin in Kilshanny Hall! Regarding St. Augustine’s church, Kilshanny, we have received a report on restoration and repair works from Fergus Merriman, heritage building surveyor, to assist with a Built Heritage Investment Scheme Grant application to Clare County Council. He advises that extensive repair and renovation is necessary, and will be a 3 or 4 year project, beginning with the most urgent works.
WARM THANKS TO THE QUEALLY FAMILY who, at the recent family reunion, donated a most generous gift of €2500 to the parish.
BACK TO SCHOOL: we wish every blessing and success to our students and school communities as they begin another year. Here’s the prayer we prayed in school this week: “dear Lord, thanks for another school year. Help me to be listen to my teachers and SNA’s, to learn new things, to be open to making new friends, and to work and pray for peace in this world. Mary our Mother, mind us all. Amen.”
Dear children, today again I call all of you to prayer. Only with prayer, dear children, will your heart change, become better, and become more sensitive to the Word of God. Little children do not permit Satan to pull you apart and do with you what he wants. I call you to be responsible and determined and to consecrate each day to God in prayer. May Holy Mass not be a habit for you, but the source of life. By living Holy Mass each day, you will feel the need for holiness, and you will grow in holiness. I am close to you, and intercede before God for each of you, so that He may give you the strength to change your heart. Thank you for having responded to my call. (Our Lady’s message in Medjugorje, January 1998).
