OUR LAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT CANDLELIGHT MASS FOR THE DEAD IS AT 7pm IN LISDOONVARNA.
ADVENT RETREAT: on Saturday afternoon, November 30th, from 2-4pm in the community room of Lisdoonvarna church, Mary Connolly will offer a time of reflection on the meaning of Advent. Mary is a former teacher, and director of liturgy for the Tuam Archdiocese. There will also be guest speakers at the Advent weekend Masses, more details to follow.
THE LIVE CRIB IN KILSHANNY: so that it’s not unfairly left to the same people, could we have some volunteers please to look after it this year, to assemble it and bring some four-legged friends? We hope to have it please God on the afternoon of Sunday, December 15th, with carol-singing and hot chocolate. Please ring Fr. Robert to volunteer. This is a parish-wide project!
PARISH CHRISTMAS MASS BOUQUETS are available this weekend. The offering of €5 goes towards the lighting, heating, and insuring of our four parish churches.
STELLA MARIS SALE OF CLIENTS’ WORK:
Monday to Wednesday from 12pm to 1pm.
TAX REBATE SCHEME: thanks so much to parishioners who are already availing of this scheme, which is in place since the Finance Act of 2001 introduced tax relief for donors to charities such as our parish. For example, if you donate more than €250 annually, an additional €113 will accrue back to the parish, with no extra cost to you. Your donation can grow by 45% with just your signature, so please consider signing and dating a Revenue Form CHY3, which gives us an enduring certificate for 5 years. Just ask me for a form. No one else will see your data, which will be kept under lock and key. This scheme does not interfere with your own personal tax claims.
NORTH CLARE HISTORICAL SOCIETY presents The Devil, the Law, and the Country House Dance, by Rita McCarthy on Monday 25th in the Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon at 8pm.
BLESSEC CARLOACUTIS, our new teenage saint-to-be who died aged 15 after a leukemia diagnosis, will be canonised by Pope Francis on Sunday, April 27th, 2025 please God, during Sunday Mass at St. Peter’s Square, Rome. This will occur during the Jubilee Year of Hope as part of the Church’s Jubilee for Teenagers. Bishop Michael hopes to bring a group of young people to Rome for the event. I will keep you posted. Carlo said: “The Eucharist is my highway to Heaven, and to always be united to Jesus is my life-plan. People who sit in the sun get a tan; people who sit before the Eucharist become saints. I offer all of my suffering to the Lord for the Pope and for the Church in order not to go to purgatory but to go straight to heaven.”
