WEDNESDAY NIGHT CANDLELIGHT MASSES FOR THE DEAD AT 7pm: 20th Toovahera, 27th Lisdoonvarna. During the Mass you are invited to bring a candle to the altar in memory of your loved-one. Candles will be provided but please bring a lighter. These Masses aim to being healing and hope to the bereaved. Please bring a friend.

LOST JEWELLERY: there are several items of lost jewellery in Lisdoonvara church sacristy which have been there for a number of years. Please pop in after Mass and see if any of it is yours.
GOD KNOWS THE ONE THING WE NEED NOW MORE THAN EVER IS HOPE! Christian hope is no more attitude of thinking positively, no mere coping-mechanism, no mere philosophy of life. Our hope is personal; in fact, our hope IS a person, a person called Jesus. With this in mind and considering the state of the world at this time, Pope Francis wants us to make 2025 a Jubilee Year of Hope, beginning with the opening of the holy door during Mass in Rome on Christmas Eve. There will be local events to follow. From her own experience of depression, isolation and being misunderstood, the poet Emily Dickinson wonderfully described hope as “the thing with feathers that perches in the soul, and sings the tune without the words, and never stops at all.”
THE SPA is a collection of books published from 2013-2015, packed with photographs, flyers, history and memories of our wonderful town, its people and surrounds. These will not be reprinted, but the good news is that there are limited copies still available. They would make a wonderful Christmas gift for loved ones at home or abroad. The set of four books costs only euro 20, and are available from the author, Kenneth Flanagan, telephone: 086 222 22 90.

STEPS TO 5K PROGRAM 6pm Mondays and Body Conditioning 7:15pm Tuesdays, at the Pavilion.
Every day I need you Lord, but this day especially. I need some extra strength to face whatever is to be. This day more than any day, I need to feel you near, to fortify my courage and to overcome my fear. By myself I cannot meet the challenge of the hour, there are times when humans help, but we need a higher power, to assist us bear what must be borne, and so dear lord I pray, holy on to my trembling hand and stay close to me today. Amen.
