HARRY’S MIRACLE RIDE: because we are Christians who believe in the limitless power of the risen Jesus over time, space, and nature, miracles should come as no surprise to us. They are opportunities to give Jesus and Our Lady even more glory, praise, and thanks. In that spirit of thanksgiving and wanting to give something back, our very own miracle boy, Harry O’Dwyer and his Kilshanny community are hosting a “miracle ride”, inviting all tractors, vintage cars, motorbikes and lorries. This wonderful celebration powered by community spirit and the Holy Spirit will begin with registration at the Pavilion, Lisdoonvarna, V95YW1C, on Sunday, February 2nd from 3pm, departing at 5pm. All proceeds will go that wonderful place of healing and hope, Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Dublin. This project is typical of the kind of boy Harry is who, even in the midst of his illness, was always thinking of others. Let’s also keep in our prayers others who could do with a miracle.
ST. BRIGID’S CROSSES available for euro 5 each. Beautifully hand-made by Nicky Considine, thanks Nicky.
NEXT CHILDREN’S ROSARY EVENING: Sunday, February 2nd at 6pm in Lisdoonvarna Church.
SET DANCING CLASSES: Wednesday evenings, 8-10pm, Common Knowledge Centre, Bog Hill, Kilfenora.
A PRAYER FOR STORMY TIMES: dear Jesus, at times when storms are promised, we naturally become anxious and worried. Lord, we are powerless over the elements, but you are all-powerful. So Lord all we can do is surrender ourselves, our lives, our property, our livestock, our businesses, our loved-ones, into your loving care. Protect us, Lord, from all adverse weather. May we act prudently and wisely during those times and avoid unnecessary activity which could place us in needless danger. May this be a time, Lord, when we prioritise who and what is most important in our lives. We remember the homeless, and we thank you, Lord, that we live in a country where there are so many resources available to us to help us at times like this. Bless and protect those who run them. Keep safe, Lord, all those who must continue to work during stormy times. And Lord, we ask you, who calmed that terrible storm on the Sea of Galilee, to calm the storms of international conflict and division, and the interior storms raging in our lives and hearts. May we gain comfort, hope, healing, and peace from your lovely words on that occasion: “peace, be still.” Mary our mother, mind us all at this time. Amen.
