THIS YEAR’S PARISH PILGRIMAGE to Medjugorje will leave please God from Shannon airport on Wednesday, August 28th to Wednesday, September 4th. There will be no Masses on the weekdays. Weekend Masses will be celebrated by Fr. Denis Luddy (Redemptorist Father). In case of emergency, please contact Fr. Richard Flanagan in Ballyvaughan on 0860235313. If you have any petitions or prayer intentions please write them down, put them in a sealed envelope, and give them to me, and I will leave them with Our Lady. Thank you so much to Marie Urquhart for stepping up to be our group leader after our dear Helen McNamara became ill. We wish Helen every healing blessing with her treatment and a speedy recovery.

HOLY MASS AT ST. AUGUSTINE’S WELL, KILSHANNY: this year will be on Tuesday, Aug 27th at 7pm (feast of St. Monica, Augustine’s long-suffering mammy), as we will be going to Medjugorje on the following day.
WELCOME TO OUR GUEST PREACHER THIS WEEKEND: I am so delighted to welcome my dear friend and brother in the Lord, Deacon Don Devaney. Don was one of the first married deacons to be ordained in the Irish Catholic Church, and runs, among many other things, the Divine Mercy Conference. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Devaney.
ANNUAL NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF KNOCK: Fr. Richard Gibbons was written to let us know that the novena this year runs from August 14th to 22nd, with the theme: Whispering with God- How do you pray? There will be daily Masses at 3pm and 8pm in the Basilica, daily workshops at 12:45pm, and guided prayer sessions in Knock Prayer Centre. Personally, I love the Rosary procession around the beautiful grounds, which reminds me so much of Fatima. I suggest that you try to get to even one day of this beautiful event and bring a friend. There’s also a fun family day on Sunday, August 18th, beginning with a blessing for families at 11am in the Apparition Chapel, followed by lots of outdoor activities.
A PRAYER LEFT ON THE ALTAR-RAILS OF CORPUS CHRISTI CHURCH, LISDOONVARNA: O Holy Spirit replace the tension within me with holy relaxation. Replace the turbulence within me with a sacred calm. Replace the anxiety within me with a quiet confidence. Replace the fear within me with a strong faith. Replace the bitterness within me with the sweetness of your grace. Replace the darkness within me with a gentle light. Replace the coldness within me with a gentle warmth. Mary my mother, hold me in your arms as you held your Son Jesus. Amen
